What is Raingard

Raingard is an innovative product that prevents rain from entering your yacht’s open windows; developed by a yachtsman with a degree in engineering and over 40 years’ sailing experience, who built his first boat aged 17.

With Raingard fitted you will benefit from increased cabin, galley and heads ventilation, reducing condensation, mildew and the danger of carbon monoxide build-up.

Designed with minimal overhang of side decks Raingard is shaped not to foul ropes and is strong enough to withstand all weathers. Extensive trials have proven its effectiveness on all these counts.

Raingard is permanently bonded to the outside of your yacht window frame without the need for screws or drilling holes. It is moulded from a single piece of clear, non-tinted acrylic sheet 4mm thick and all edges are polished smooth. Raingard is bespoke to individual windows; it only takes minutes to fix to a window frame, simply clean the frame, mark its position, remove the adhesive backing strip and press into place.

Where can I use Raingard?

To ensure Raingard is suitable for your yacht’s windows please check these criteria.

Your windows should:

a) open inwards,
b) have a frame with a reasonably flat surface and a width of at least 12mm exposed to
the outside (see images above),
c) be made of aluminium or stainless steel (well varnished wood should be OK),
d) have a rectangular or square frame with rounded or square corners.
